Search the online catalogue Does the library have the book I want?

Access the Online Catalogue via the link on the Library Website.

The catalogue will open in Simple search mode. This is great for doing a quick search.

Try a simple search in the search box.

Advanced searches Click the Advanced link to switch to Advanced searching. Now you can build more complex searches by adding search boxes and combining them.

You can add an author, title word and type of resource you want.

Now try an advanced search of your own. Did you get any results?

Your results will look something like this Click the forward and back arrows to move through the results. The search terms(s) used are highlighted.

What are the different parts of an individual record? The class shows the location of the item on the shelves. The colour shows the zone. This shows location and whether the item is available or on loan.

My account My account When you log in you will see a summary of your account in the top right of the screen. Click on your name, or the Account menu option, to open the My Account screen. Select the Loans tab to display your current loans and their due dates.

Reserve books and DVDs already on loan or at Ashford Library

Items on loan? Don’t worry – you can reserve them Search for the item and display the record in the Detailed results screen Click on the Reserve button and follow on- screen instructions.

Don’t want to pay fines? Renew items and you won’t have to! Select My Account and loans tab. Select items for renewal and click renew button.
