5 Imports of registered horses from Moldova Health Certificate in Annex B to Commission Decision 93/197/EEC  Information on health status –remained in Moldova since birth or at least 90 days –been isolated for 30 days from equidae not of same health status –come from (part of) territories with no occurence of African horse sickness (2 y), VEE (2 y), dourine (6 m), glanders (6 m), vesicular stomatitis (6 m), equine viral artheritis (6 m) holding free of encephalomyelitis (6 m), EIA (3 m), vesicular stomatitis (6 m), rabies (1 m), anthrax (15 d) nor any contacts with animals from infected holding holding with no suspicion of CEM (2 m) nor any contacts with infected or suspected animals –no contacts with any equidae suffering from an(y) infectious or contagious disease (15 d) –possible vaccination against African horse sickness  Examination of health status –been examined today (=last wd before embarkation) and show no clinical sign of disease –testing for EIA, dourine and glanders within 21 d of export – in a lab approved by EUMS of destination & certified test results to be attached to certificate!  Declaration of owner / representative –animals remained in Moldova since birth or at least 90 days –transport from premises of dispatch to destination without contacts with other equidae –health and welfare of animals to be protected during transportation

6 Imports from Moldova of registered equidae and equidae for breeding and production Health Certificate in Annex B to Commission Decision 93/197/EEC for Sanitary Group B countries import of RE & EBP is (usually) allowed when import of RH is authorised conditions as for registered horses –remained in Moldova since birth or at least 90 days –isolation for 30 days –testing for EIA, dourine and glanders within 21 d of export – in a lab approved by EUMS of destination & certified test results to be attached to certificate DIFFERENT: to be examined on the day of loading

7 Temporary admission of registered horses from Moldova Health Certificate in Annex B to Commission Decision 92/260/EEC for temporary admission into the EU for a period of less than 90 days applies only to ’registered’ &’horses’  Information on health status –remained at least 40 d in Moldova; and/or in a EUMS or Norway; and/or in United Arab Emirates, Australia, Belarus, Canada, Switzerland, Greenland, Hong Kong, Iceland, Japan, Korea, Montenegro, Macedonia, Macao, Malesia, New Zealand, Serbia, Russia, Singapore, Thailand, Ukraine, USA – import to Moldova on conditions similar to EU import conditions! –no isolation – no contacts for 15 days with equidae suffering from an(y) infectious or contagious disease –similar requirements on animal health set on Moldova as for permanent import  Examination of health status –been examined today (=last wd before embarkation) and show no clinical sign of disease –testing for EIA within 3 months of export  Declaration of owner / representative –on transport and health conditions –horse will not stay in EU longer than 90 d

8 Re-entry of registered horses from Moldova after temporary export for racing, competition and cultural events Health Certificate in Annex II to Commission Decision 93/195/EEC for re-entry into the EU after temporary export for a period of not more than 30 d applies only to ’registered’ &’horses’ & ’for racing, competition and cultural events’  Information on health status –imported into Moldova from an EUMS from a third country of the same sanitary group has not stayed in any other country during this 30 d period –no isolation - has been kept in separate stables without contacts with equidae of lower health status (except during racing, competition or cultural events) –similar requirements on animal health set on Moldova as for permanent import  Examination of health status –been examined today (=last wd before loading) and show no clinical sign of disease –no testing  Declaration of owner / representative –on transport and health conditions –the date the horse was exported from EU

9 Imports of equidae for slaughter from Moldova Health Certificate in Annex I (slaughter direct) / Health Certificate in Annex II (slaughter via market) to Commission Decision 93/196/EEC Moldova needs to be listed in the Annex to Commission Decision 163/2011 on residue plans for equidae  Information on health status –remained in Moldova since birth or at least 90 days –been isolated for 30 days from equidae not of the same health status –similar requirements on animal health set on Moldova as for permanent import –did not receive any thyreostatic, estrogenic, androgenic or gestagenic substances for fattening purposes  Examination of health status –been examined today (=day of loading) and show no clinical sign of disease –direct slaughter: testing for EIA and glanders within 10 days of export –slaughter via market: testing for EIA, glanders and dourine within 10 days of export  Declaration of owner / representative –on transport and health conditions

10 Transit of equidae from Moldova through EU territory  In accordance with Commission Decision 2010/57/EU  Authorised from territories or part of territories –where temporary admission or imports of registered horses is authorised (columns 6 and 8 in Commission Decision 2004/211/EC)  Accompanied by ’Animal health certificate for the transit of equidae’ –sections I (identification of the horse), II (origin and destination of horse) and III (health information) of certificate in Annex B to Commission Decision 92/260/EEC (except requirements for equine viral arteritis) includes testing for EIA within 3 months resident during the last 40 days preceeding the export –registered horses: in Moldova, EUMSs and countries of Sanitary Groups A to E been –other equidae: in Moldova, EUMSs and countries listed in certificate in Annex B to Commission Decision 92/260/EEC –import to Moldova on conditions similar to EU import conditions –sections IV (declaration) and V (validation) of certificate in Annex B to Commission Decision 92/260/EEC ’IV: Equidae coming from: ……………………. (third country/territory of dispatch) and proceeding to: ……………………….. (third country/territory of destination) V: Stamp and signature of the official veterinarian: ………………………….

11 Imports of semen, ova and embryos of equidae from Moldova Health Certificate in Annex I (semen) Health Certificate in Annex II (ova & embryos) to Commission Decision 2010/471/EC* from EU approved semen collection/storage centres; or embryo collection/production team fulfilling conditions of Directive 92/65/EEC: https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/sanco/traces/output/non_eu_listsPerActivity_en.htm# similar requirements on animal health set on Moldova as for import of live equidae donor stallions to be tested for EIA, equine viral arteritis and CEM donor mares to be tested for EIA and CEM * Import conditions for semen, ova and embryos of animals of equine species will be amended in accordance with EU Implementing Regulation 846/2014 as regards the conditions for donor animals. The import conditions will be moved into Commission Implementing Decision 2010/470/EU and the Decision 2010/471/EC will be repealed.

12 General import conditions Certification certificate shall accompany the animals in origin certified test results to be attached (permanent import of RH) tests, test results and vaccination to be entered in the identification document (passport) for RH Transport equidae shall not be transported in a means of transport carrying other equidae that are not destined to EU equidae shall not be transported in a means of transport carrying equidae of a lower health status during the transport to EU, equidae shall not be unloaded in a (part of) territory that is not approved for importation of equidae equidae shall not be transported to EU on road, railway or on foot through a (part of) territory that is not approved for importation of any equidae equidae shall arrive at a BIP of EU within 10 days of being certified (prolongation in case of transport by sea) –BIP with ‘E’ authorised for entry of registered equidae –BIP with ‘U’ authorised for entry of other equidae vehicles to be cleaned and disinfected in advance & designed in a way that droppings, litter or fodder cannot escape during transport
