3. Sumo is a wrestling sport which is full- contact. A Japanese wrestler called a rikishi tries to push another wrestler out of the ring or force someone onto anything other than the soles of their feet. This is a basic explanation of Sumo. Now it’s time to learn about the people who make it possible!

4. To start sumo training at about 15 or 16. It takes 9 years of training. Sumo wrestlers wear different clothes depending on their rank. Sumo wrestlers are expected to have a life expectancy between 60 and 65.They suffer from diabetes, high blood pressure and are prone to heart attacks. Wrestlers are not allowed to eat breakfast.

5. Sumo wrestlers own a training stable. Each stable belongs to 1 out of 6 groups. There are 52 stables in total. The last sumo stable to open was Onoe in 2006.
