2. What is the urinary system? A waste system that expels waste/urine from the body by filtering the blood and Excrete unwanted waste

6. Bladder A muscular sac in the pelvis that holds urine allowing urination to be voluntary and not as often Can contract to force urine out through the urethra Usually the size of a grapefruit but can hold much more if needed

7. Bladder cont. Is located posterior to the pubic symphysis and cradled by the other pelvic bones Formed of three layers, the mucosa (waterproof layer), the lamina propria (blood vessels), and the detrusor layer (muscle layer)

Difference Between Male and female The male urethra consists of penile and prostatic parts Male urethra is about 20cm in length and the female is about 4cm in length Male urethra carries semen as well as urine to the exterior (opens out the tip of the penis) Female urethra only carries urine to the exterior It opens by urinary aperture in front of vaginal aperture (aperture-An opening, hole, or gap)
