Organic Forms from organic shells or skeletal remains that cement into rock. fossiliferous limestone

Chemical Forms from chemicals dissolved in water Limestone

Foliated- Metamorphic rocks that have ribbon- like layers in their textures. Gneiss (nice) Common in NJ

Non-foliated Metamorphic rocks made of only one or two minerals and have no layering. Marble Limestone + Heat and Pressure = Marble

Obsidian Forms when magma comes to surface and cools = extrusive Glassy, no crystals Volcanic glass

Granite Forms when magma cools below the surface= intrusive
