A rate is a specific type of ratio between two numbers with different units. Rates Example: Take your heart rate Place two fingers on the major artery in your neck Count the number of heart beats in ten seconds Take our heart rate: 1.Place two fingers on the major artery in your neck 2.Count the number of heart beats in twenty seconds What is your heart rate in beats per minute?
