2. INTRODUCTION
The United States is filled with national monuments, both natural and man-made.
From the Golden Gate Bridge of the California's West Coast to the East Coast's Statue of Liberty, national monuments of interest abound.
This presentation is about Top 5 man-made monuments in the US.

4. Mount Rushmore Sculptures of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson,
Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln (left to right)
represent the first 130 years of the history of the United States.
Established: March 3, 1925
Situated in North Dakota's Black Hills, Mount Rushmore blends natural majesty with man made ingenuity. 

5. Sculpted by Danish-American Gutzon Borglum and his son, Lincoln Borglum.
The monument was carved by 400 workers and cost approximately $1,000,000 to build.
Symbolizing the ideals of freedom and democracy, it is a tribute to four presidents and their invaluable contributions to the United States.
Mount Rushmore National Memorial represents not only the past, but also a promise for the future.
Today, it is one of the most recognized monuments in the US, with around 3 million visitors each year.

The Lincoln Memorial is an American national monument built to honor the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln.
It is located on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. across from the Washington Monument.
The architect was Henry Bacon, the sculptor of the primary statue – Abraham Lincoln, 1920 – was Daniel Chester French, and the painter of the interior murals was Jules Guerin.
Dedicated in 1922, it is one of several monuments built to honor an American president.

Commemorating the expedition of Lewis and Clark, the St. Louis Gateway Arch was completed in 1965.
The arch features a museum, and visitors can take scenic riverboat rides.
