1. Death toll at 272 in Ecuador

2. Rescue crews searched through rubble for survivors of a magnitude-7.8 earthquake that struck coastal Ecuador. The death toll has soared to 272. That number is expected to rise as rescue teams continue to look for survivors. It has been estimated that at least 2,527 people were injured. The earthquake hit Saturday evening. In a race to help residents, Ecuador deployed 10,000 soldiers and 4,600 police officers to the affected areas. The military also brought in more K9 units to aid the search for survivors -- and bodies. The governments of Colombia, Chile, Spain and Mexico are sending help for rescue efforts, the vice president said. Secretary of State John Kerry said that the United States was “ready to assist in any way we can.” It's the deadliest earthquake to hit the nation since March 1987 when a 7.2-magnitude temblor killed 1,000 people.

3. In Other News Guns N' Roses singer Axl Rose will be joining AC/DC for its "Rock or Bust" world tour -- including rescheduled U.S. dates. Rose is replacing AC/DC singer Brian Johnson, according to a statement posted Saturday on the band's website. Johnson had been advised by doctors in March "to stop touring immediately or risk total hearing loss.” A drone apparently slammed into a British Airways plane headed to London on Sunday. The Airbus A320 had 132 passengers and five crew members on board. After the plane landed safely at Heathrow, authorities said they believe a drone struck the front of the aircraft. It's unclear whose drone may have hit the plane. No arrests have yet been made. While it's unusual for a drone to strike a plane, there are plenty of close calls -- especially in the United States. Hundreds of drones have flown dangerously close to manned aircraft in U.S. airspace. Drones flying too close to commercial flights pose a serious threat to larger aircraft, and can be sucked into the engine or crash into the cockpit window, injuring or killing a pilot. Brazilian lawmakers debated whether to impeach the country's President on Sunday. After more than six hours of voting and fiery speeches, 367 lawmakers voted to impeach, more than the two-thirds -- 342 -- needed to pass the motion. The impeachment motion will next go to the country's Senate. If a majority approves it there, Rousseff will have to step down for 180 days to defend herself in an impeachment trial. All of this comes just months before the Summer Olympics kick off in Rio de Janeiro.
