Maggie Taylor composes digital images that are both whimsical and intriguing. Her latest work combines classical studio portraits with Surrealist elements of fantasy. Her work also weaves loose narratives that stay in our mind like a fragment of a dream. Her works are composites of scans and photographic images collected at different times. There is not a negative in the sense of traditional photography; the images exist entirely in the computer.

To create a Collage you will use 10 or more pictures consisting of the following: A portrait of you Shapes found in nature or architecture Words or landscapes Objects Photographs you have taken and images from the internet

LAYERS LAYERS LAYERS Consist of 10 or more images Different clarity or OPACITY on each layer (with filters… if needed) Creative layout and design

STEP by STEP Step 1: Open all the images you are using in Photoshop as well as create a new document Start with an image that you will be using for the background layer and ‘select all’, Copy, and Paste into new document

STEP by STEP Now you will have one layer plus your background layer Take your 2 nd image and ‘select all’, copy, and paste into new document Lower the opacity of this layer to desired lightness

STEP by STEP Take your 3 rd image and ‘select all’, copy, and paste into new document Lower the opacity of this layer to desired lightness and move around, enlarge, and re-arrange until you achieve desired position
