3 FACT  Roy Ritzman uses wires thinner then human hair to study how the legs move.  Arthropods have many sensitive hairs that help the creatures respond to the change in their environment. OPINION  Cockroaches are good at moving around obstacles.  Imitating nature has become popular for making robots.

4 Main Idea: Wildlife has inspired scientists. Details: 1) Roy Ritzman observes cockroaches for new robots. 2) Roger Quinn invents robots after arthropods. 3) Joseph Ayers was inspired to make RoboLobster after a lobster.

5 The author’s purpose is to inform us about how nature has been imitated into robot form. I know this because when I read this article I found there were mostly facts.
