5 2014-15 Strategic Plan PriorityKey Actions  Priority Area 1 Broaden the appeal of rail to women, young people and Indigenous people. Determine any benchmarks within industry Appoint ambassadors to champion key categories Work collaboratively with other organisations to reach outside the industry Produce promotional articles / material  Priority Area 2 Be truly national – the Field Days, networking events and other RTAA activities. Develop a targeted communication strategy Expand networking events Hold Field Days event/s in a state other than NSW. Identify location-based RTAA champions.  Priority Area 3 Participate in the establishment of uniform track standards. Assist RISSB to develop uniform track standards. Assist ONRSR by promoting use of Industry Standards / CoP and guidance. Ensure RTAA has representation on appropriate committees/working groups. Inform members of RTAA’s work in relation to track standards.  Priority Area 4 Promote grassroots knowledge sharing by working with section track managers from one generation to the next. Host/sponsor a targeted workshop that addresses key knowledge retention. Provide learning opportunities to “potential rail people”. Establish an online forum through Linked-In Group. Develop website to appeal to next generation

8 AusRAIL 2014 Perth Key Facts: When 11 th & 12 th November 6 papers in the RTAA Technical Stream Papers lift the bar again for technical quality RTAA AGM will be held 12 th November (early)

9 Frank Franklyn Award 2014 Entries closed in early July The panel is considering entries now Standard of submissions is very high Winners will be announced on 29 August at the RTAA No-Tie Dinner 2015 Award will be made at the ARA Rail Industry Awards Event

10 RTAA announcements No-Tie Dinner – 29 th August at Doltone House Review of Constitution – currently ongoing Technical & Networking Events: Melbourne 16 th September Newcastle 23 rd October Adelaide TBA October AGM at AusRAIL Perth – 12 th November 2014 Heritage train trip Sydney to Newcastle – 26 th January 2015
