A camel has humps, the one in Arabia has one hump, the one in East Asia has two humps. Those humps store water. Camels are native to dry places like the desert. Camels can go many days with out water in the desert. A camels life span is 40-50 years. Ancestors of camels evolved in Palaeogene Period.

Camels are domesticated in Somali region. There is about 1000 Bactrian camels in the Gobi Desert. Camels stand long periods without water because there red blood cell is a oval shape. A camels coat reflects the sunlight. Camels have been known for swimming.
