Faith in Action - Prayer Wednesday 1 st July

What does the Bible say about Prayer? As Christians, prayer seems pivotal to our lives, but often it’s really easy to take it for granted or forget that it is important. But the Bible has a lot to say about prayer, so here are somethings you should know: When we pray, God listens. This sounds simple but alot of people do not understand this. Praying means something in our lives because God listens to our prayers. Throughout the Bible there are people praying and crying out to God and he is forever saying, “I have heard you!” Here are a few examples of God hearing people’s prayers in the Bible: “I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry.” – Psalm 40:1 “They talked with each other, and the Lord listened and heard” – Malachi 3:16 “This is what the Lord says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears.” - Isaiah 38:5

Do not feel silly or that it does not make a difference, because God listens to what we are saying. Praying is like having a conversation with God You don’t have to be perfect in the way you pray; ther is no set way and God will be happy that you have started that conversation. Remember to leave time to hear what God wants to say to you! Let us now close our eyes, sit very still and quietly and listen to the scripture passages. Think deeply about one. How will you begin your conversation with God?
