9 Exam requirements CLASS ACTIVITIES (attendance, participation) Project FINAL EXAM (written& oral)

10 Exam requirements DEFAULT = 1 point granted unconditionally, according to the Romanian marking system

11 Exam requirements CLASS ACTIVITIES = 5 points granted for a minimum 6 speaking contributions during courses and / or seminars Note: Each class contribution will be marked (or not) based on the course leader’s discretion regarding length (at least 3 minutes) and relevance to the topic discussed. Each student can have only one contribution per class marked!

12 Bonus 1 point extra granted to students who have spoken 8 or more times during seminars and / or courses

13 Mark recognition Equivalent marks are accepted ONLY from the following faculties (any major): 1.Faculty of European Studies 2.Faculty of Business

14 Mark recognition procedure Students wishing to have their marks recognized, please note the following: 1.Marks can be officially recorded ONLY during an exam session 2.Marks transferred from other faculties may be recorded 1 semester later (because of (1) above)

15 Re-examination requirements DEFAULT: 1 point WRITTEN PAPER / PRESENTATION: 3 points FINAL EXAM (WRITTEN): 6 points

16 Re-examination requirements THE WRITTEN PAPER / PRESENTATION: 4points A paper / presentation defended as an oral exam, after the written exam, on a topic assigned by the course leader out of the ones studied in class The paper will have to contain footnotes and a bibliography and it will have to be in an academic format Students defending their papers will have to answer questions regarding topic relevance and the language used (grammar and vocabulary structures)

Once the information provided by the course leader is posted, each student is individually responsible for getting self-informed, given that the yahoo groups used are official.

22 BEC Higher The Business English Certificates (BEC) are internationally recognised qualifications that show employers your skills for using English in the workplace. Exam held in Cluj-Napoca (two times a year: November & May) Valuable proof of students’ mastering of the Business English knowledge and usage
