8. What is “The wilderness”? God’s training ground to get you ready for the battle that is ahead and to prepare you for the challenges of living in the land (Taking Canaan) In short we are “Trainin’ for Canaan”

11. God’s Training Plan Stage one: Stage one: Deliverance from Bondage

12. Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea and they went into the Desert of Shur. For three days they traveled in the desert without finding water. When they came to Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter. (That is why the place is called Marah.) 14. Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. Deuteronomy 8:2 NIV

16. He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. Deuteronomy 8:3 NIV
