Renaissance Man- someone who can do a lot of things well. scientist, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, painter, sculptor, architect, botanist, musician and writer. Probably because of his abundance of diverse interests, da Vinci failed to complete a significant number of his paintings and projects. He spent a great deal of time immersing himself in nature, testing scientific laws, dissecting bodies (human and animal) and thinking and writing about his observations. Only 15 of his paintings have survived

At 22, accused to have a homosexual affair with Jacopo Saltarelli (a model), acquittal, but was acquitted.

The Last Supper IT'S BIGGER THAN YOU THINK. 15 feet by 29 feet. Painted on dry plaster, led to its demise A tempera and oil mural on plaster

THE LAST SUPPER CAPTURES A CLIMACTIC MOMENT. THE MOMENT RIGHT AFTER JESUS ANNOUNCES THAT SOMEONE WILL BETRAY HIM. RENOVATIONS ELIMINATED A PORTION OF THE LAST SUPPER. In 1652, a doorway was added to the wall that holds the painting. Its construction meant that a lower central chunk of the piece—which included Jesus' feet—was lost. http://www.history.com/topics/leon ardo-da-vinci
