Scope/Charter Develop and maintain recommended practices for certification and product assurance of aircraft and systems from development and validation of requirements to verification of an implemented design. Develop and maintain recommended practices for accomplishing initial design and in-service safety assessments of aircraft, systems and equipment to support effective safety management.

Generalized SOW Proactively provide state-of-the-art guidance material for aircraft & system safety assessment: Review & maintain ARP 4754 as state-of-the-art guidance document for aircraft/system integration, requirements development, verification and validation. Review & maintain ARP 4761 as state-of-the-art guidance document for aircraft/system safety assessment. Review & maintain ARP 5150 as state-of-the-art guidance document for ongoing safety assessment of transport airplanes in commercial service. Develop and maintain ARP 5151 as state-of-the-art guidance document for ongoing safety assessment of General Aviation Aircraft and Rotorcraft in commercial use. Develop new safety guidance material to meet industry needs.

Product Descriptions ARP4754 –Discusses the development, validation and verification of aircraft systems requirements. ARP4761 –Describes guidelines and methods of performing the safety assessment for certification and product assurance of aircraft. ARP5150 –Describes guidelines, methods and tools used to perform the ongoing safety assessment process for transport airplanes in commercial service. ARP5151 –Describes a process that may be used to perform the ongoing safety assessment for 1) GAR aircraft and components, and 2) commercial operators of GAR aircraft.
