3. Introduction to the viewer Hi my name is Lexi and I am in 6 th grade at United Elementary. I love Science and Literacy, and I am a animal nut. I have an adorable guinea pig named Coffee and I love all animals except chickens and cats because I am scared of them. I played soccer and softball, I am starting volleyball. A lot of my family lives in Washington state and I visit them almost every two to three years. This is what my pet guinea pig looks like.

4. Journal entry from the end of the year I chose this when I started the year I was not a very good writer but entry because now I love writing and since I loved this book that made writing this paper easier.

5. Compared to beginning of the year Journal Entry I feel that this writing was not as good as my end of the year writing, because I didn’t have as much experience. But my end of the year writing is much better than this one, and much more detailed and descriptive and there is not nearly enough in the beginning of the year writing.

7. Look at me as a reader When I first started this year I was a level Y and now I am a level Z. I like to read realistic fiction and I like to read in my bed. I also like to read while sitting with my guinea pig. My reading habits are that sometimes I read too fast and not comprehend the book too well but, one of my good habits is to choose pretty good books. Some of my favorite books are below.

8. Look at me as a writer At the beginning of the year I was not the best writer. But after some help from Mrs. Tedeschi I got better and now I am not the worst writer in the world. My writing habits are that I like to write on my bed, still with my guinea pig. I like to write neatly but, I don’t have good handwriting so it doesn’t happen often.

9. Books Mrs.Tedeschi has read out loud On My Honor by: Marion Dane Bauer. I really liked this book because of its description. The life lesson it taught was to tell the truth. The Tiger Rising by: Kate DeCamillo. I liked this book because the way she wrote it made it seem like it could happen to anybody. The Cay by :Theodore Taylor. I liked this book because Timothy was the coolest person to be stuck on a deserted island. I liked his accent. I didn’t like that Phillip had to become blind though. It was sad. Island of The Blue Dolphins by: Scott Odell. I really liked this book because I can relate to Karana. I have a little mischievous brother (he didn’t get killed by wild dogs though) and she doesn’t think he can do as much as he thinks he can. My brother is super smart and would never try in the middle of the night to get a canoe 9 times heavier than he is! Lawn Boy by: Gary Paulsen. I really liked this book because it made learning about economics really fun. Tuck Everlasting by: Natalie Babbitt

10. Literature circles Here is a picture of one of my literature circle job sheets This year I have read The Westing Game by: Ellen Raskin Prisoner B-3087 by: Alan Gratz Odette's Secrets by: MaryAnn MacDonald Half Magic by: Edward Eager ………………………………………… … So far I have liked Prisoner B-3087 the best but all have something that the other didn’t. For example Prisoner B-3087 had it in the 1st person and I liked that. The Westing Game was like a murder mystery and Odette's Secrets had a lot of description.

11. Social Studies We did a project on ancient civilization and I got China. Here is my report. Sorry if you can not read it very well.

12. Art In Art this year we have done a clay container and we have made really cool coil pots for Mothers Day and we made awesome tie, die shirts. I really like Art because we have a very nice teacher and we do some pretty awesome and very cool projects.

13. Choir So far the songs we have sang in choir are: Snow Day Come To The Stable A Lot of Christmas Carols Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride Somewhere Over The Rainbow Listen To My Song Flashlight Only hope Rock Island Line Do-Re-Mi I really like choir. Mrs. Conser is very nice and helps us sing better by talking us through the songs. We had a Kennywood field trip.

14. Science This is one of our science notes In science here are some of the experiments we did. Make homemade ice-cream Melt wax and sugar over a flame Put M&Ms in hot water

15. The Cruise In November we went on vacation. We flew to Florida and got a on Disney Cruise Line ship. We got unlimited ice cream and soft drinks. We went with 16 other people as shown in the picture. We went to Mexico and Disney's private island Castaway Cay. The only bad thing was we were only on vacation for 5 days and on the way home we were stuck at the airport for 7 hours waiting for our plane and we had to say good bye to my friend from South America.

17. My Pet In the picture is my baby guinea pig and I. My guinea pigs name is Coffee and he is black and brown. He lives in our foyer and he loves to eat lettuce,(and lots of it!) that is why he is sort of fat. Even though he is sometimes mean I love him the way he is!

18. Volleyball This year I started volleyball with my friends Madison and Lexi. I really like it because all of my mom’s sisters play it. My Aunt Jami is very good. We’re the new kids though so we aren't the best but we’re pretty good and are getting better everyday!!

19. Excel Stock Market By: Alexis Lewand 5-21-16 In excel this year we purchased (not really) something called stock market. You purchase stocks in a company of your choice and you then see how much money we make. The stocks I got were Amazon, Bob Evans, Nike, Pepsi and Wal-Mart. I only made $129.47. The only stock that cost me money was Nike. If I were to consider getting into stock marketing then I would go back to see what it has done so far. I would look at its time line and see if it did good or bad. I would probably do some fast food places. From what others have told me some have made a lot of money.

28. How my progress reports helped me with my goals Whenever we got our progress reports I used them to see if I’d done better or worse than the last 9 weeks. I still need to work on some things but one of my strengths was that I apply knowledge to solve problems. Also I communicate ideas effectively. My weaknesses are I don’t work well with others.

29. My Year In Review My favorite part of this year was when the Choir went to Kennywood, because it was fun, I was in a group with some of my best friends, and there was cotton candy. I also thought that when we made homemade ice-cream it was awesome. Another one of the best things that happened in 6 th grade was that I got some pretty awesome teachers. I will totally miss school. Kidding. Summer is life.
