5 The only letter of recommendation we need is you yourselves. Your lives are a letter written in our hearts; everyone can read it and recognize our good work among you. Clearly, you are a letter from Christ showing the result of our ministry among you. This “letter” is written not with pen and ink, but with the Spirit of the living God. It is carved not on tablets of stone, but on human hearts. We are confident of all of this because of our great trust in God through Christ. It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God. He has enabled us to be ministers of his new covenant. This is a covenant not of written laws, but of the Spirit. The old written covenant ends in death; but under the new covenant, the Spirit gives life. II Corinthians 3:1-6

6 Catalyst Mentoring is a vision to see the youth in our region awakened to their unique purpose and potential through life-on-life mentoring. Through an enormous voluntary effort of community educators, the faith community, and community business leaders, Catalyst Mentoring has been launched to ‘rewrite the fatherless story through mentoring.’ Mentoring has been shown as one of the most viable strategies to break the cycles of poverty and hopelessness. We believe that no significant change takes place without a significant relationship. Catalyst Mentoring serves the community in three ways: 1. Education We gather three times a year to educate and train mentors across our region, helping them to rewrite the fatherless story through mentoring, which alleviates the cycles of poverty and Violence. 2. Celebration We love to celebrate the stories of lives impacted by mentoring throughout our region through local and social media outlets. In short, we want to celebrate the hidden heroes of our community who are investing in our citys youth to invest in our city’s future. 3. Collaboration We work with existing mentor projects from across our region to develop best practices and share them so that we can have a larger collective impact on the youth of our city. We invite you to join with us as we together invest in our city’s youth to invest in our city’s future. C A T A L Y S T M E N T O R I N G
