As a result dangerous amount of radioactive material has been released to the environment

2011 Pan American Health Organization Módulo 265 CURRENT SITUATION OF THE PLANT as of 30 MARCH 2011 05.00 UTC Power distribution panels in Units 2 and 4 have been connected. The lighting in units 1, 2 and 3 control rooms has been restored. Fresh water is being continuously injected in units 1,2 and 3 Water continues to be poured into the Spent Fuel Pool of Unit 4 each day Accumulated radioactive water was found next to the turbine buildings of Units 1, 2 and 3, and it is being drained.

During the screening in Okuma Town: 3 people were at the level of 13,000 cpm or more. During the screening of people from the hospitals located within 10km area: 6 people were at the level of 13,000 cpm or more. During the screening of 91,768 people by Fukushima Prefecture: 98 people were above the 100,000 cpm

Countermeasures taken Administration of the stable Iodine: the 16 th during evacuation area (20 km radius) the 21 st to the cities, towns and villages of the Prefecture Sheltering: the 15th, Prime Minister directed in-house stay to the residents in the area from 20 km to 30 km radius from Fukushima Dai-ichi NPS. Foodstuffs control: Suspension of shipment and restriction of intake of several vegetables from Prefectures of Fukushima, Ibaraki, Tochigi and Gunma Restriction of drinking tap-water for: All residents: Iitate Village Babies: in the cities of Minami-soma, Iwaki, Tamura and Tuskidate

USA Environmental Protection Agency EPA has deployed additional monitors to Hawaii, Alaska, Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands Filter results for Anaheim, CA found: (Picocuries/m3) Cs-137: 0.0017, Te-132: 0.012, I-132: 0.0095, I-131: 0.046. The radiation levels detected are hundreds of thousands times below levels of concern.
