When we compare two things or two groups of things, we use the comparative form of adjectives + than. We usually add -er to short adjectives and we use more with long adjectives. In the 1940s, the first computers were bigger than cars. These new chairs are more comfortable than the old ones. This says that a computer is not cleverer than I am.
