Environment and Resources 46-49 Objective: to understand the difference between renewable and nonrenewable resources, and the impact humans have.

Human Environmental Interaction The environment provides energy, water, food, and other materials for humans to use. As man has evolved and populations have grown there has been a greater impact humans have had.

Types of Resources Natural Resources – useful material found in the environment. – Divided between renewable and nonrenewable – Renewable – can be replaced by the Earth or people. – Nonrenewable – cannot be replaced in a short period of time, if at all. – Fossil fuels – nonrenewable resources formed from the remains of plants and animals over millions of years.
