Overpopulation occurs when a population of a species exceeds the carrying capacity of its ecological niche. It is a function of the number of individuals compared to the relevant resources, such as the water and essential nutrients they need to survive. It can result from an increase in births, a decline in mortality rates, an increase in immigration, or an unsustainable biome and depletion of resources.

 Overexploitation  Overgrazing  Pollution  Depletion of Resources

Overexploitation, also called overharvesting, refers to harvesting a renewable resource to the point of diminishing returns. Sustained overexploitation can lead to the destruction of the resource. The term applies to natural resources such as: wild medicinal plants, grazing pastures, game animals, fish stocks, forests, and water aquifers.

 Resource destruction  Species extinction  Deforestation  Depletion of food products  Soil erosion

Overgrazing occurs when plants are exposed to intensive grazing for extended periods of time, or without sufficient recovery periods. It can be caused by either livestock in poorly managed agriculture applications, game reserves, or nature reserves. It can also be cause by immobile, travel restricted populations of native or non-native wild animals.

 Erosion  Desertification  Causes of spread of invasive species of non-native plants and of weeds.  Deforestation

Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into the natural environment that cause adverse change. Pollution can take the form of chemical substances or energy, such as noise, heat or light. Pollutants, the components of pollution, can be either foreign substances/energies or naturally occurring contaminants.

 Degradation of the environment  Unsafe and unsterile atmosphere  Diseases  Destroy habitats  Global warming

Resource depletion is the consumption of a resource faster than it can be replenished. Natural resources are commonly divided between renewable resources and non renewable resources.Use of either of these forms of resources beyond their rate of replacement is considered to be resource depletion. It is most commonly used in reference to farming, fishing, mining, water usage, and consumption of fossil fuel.

 Aquifer depletion  Habitat degradation  Irrigation  Mining  Overconsumption  Technological and Industrial resources

 Better education for all  Making people aware of Family Planning  Tax Benefits or Concessions  Knowledge of Sex Education  Making people aware of the cost of raising children

In conclusion, let us all take a step towards a better future by trying to fight the environmental issues which came into light due to Overpopulation.
