4 Regional Education Centers Regional Education Centers $500,000 per Regional Education Center over 4 years (please see attached budget) Funds may only be used to: Hire personnel, or supplement existing staff, to serve as the Regional Education Center Coordinator Support Coordinator travel within region in support of RTTT Participating LEAs for their Scopes of Work, and all LEAs in the region with respect to the SEA Scope of Work Support RTTT related project operating expenses Race to the Top Mission: Support LEAs within each Region to: Implement the Arizona 2010 Academic Standards (Common Core) in English Language Arts and Math, using STEM as the vehicle Complete the Student-Teacher Connection within all of their schools Race to the Top Funding Source: Other locally identified funding streams including LEA race to the top funding. Regional Education Center Mission: Locally defined and accessible professional development, educational services and technical services to address statewide high priority initiatives, including (but not limited to): Data Use (supplemental to RTTT) Standards (supplemental to RTTT) and Assessment Great Teachers-Great Leaders Struggling Schools STEM (supplemental to RTTT) Local Funding Source Arizona Race to the Top provides the opportunity to create the initial structural framework to operationalize the Regional Education Center Model, and funding for two core areas of service and support related to standards implementation and data systems. However, additional components of the Regional Education Center Model may be implemented within each Region, based on locally identified need and locally identified supplemental funding sources to support those needs.

(B)(3) - Standards Implementation: Choose at least one* required activity for both ELA Standards Implementation and Math Standards Implementation. This choice should be driven by identified local need and the total Race to the Top LEA Budget Allocation amount. Note: All LEAs are required to develop local ELA and Math Standards Implementation Plans. 2. (C)(2) - Data Systems: All required activities must be addressed. * LEAs receiving an allocation of $70,000 or more must address all (B)(3) Elements within their Scope of Work.
