ENDING IL For his final song (before 5 song intro), as always: Piano Man 20 K people singing along with him. This man who’s been serenading a culture for a generation. Then at end he stopped singing and 20K sang to him. Sing us a song you're the piano man Sing us a song tonight Well we're all in the mood for a melody And you've got us feeling alright Hmmm Sing us a song -- you're the piano man Tears came as I listened. “Wow, he really likes Billy Joel.” Not the reason. 20K who have eternity in their hearts and here’s someone who is articulating longings they haven’t been able to articulate. -> Many of those same 20K people have had a brush with the gospel or at least church. But how many have connected the gospel with their yearning to be fully human. Who’s fault is that? Not theirs. (It’s the way we’ve cordoned off the gospel into how to be a good Christian instead of a healthy, God-glorifying human being.

5 John 13:33-35 “My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come. A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

8 1 John 4:8-10 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? …No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

30 1 John 3:16-18 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

37 SUMMARY Galatians 5:13-15 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”  If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.
