2 Historical Context 0 Technological and Economic progress made some people excited and hopeful for the future while others were skeptical 0 WWI and WWII gave people a negative outlook on life but also were more brave to travel internationally 0 After the WW’s The Great Depression didn’t help with cheering people up 0 Technological advancement made it easy to share ideas which made for more international connection 0 Very unbalanced between traditional industry and new industry

3 Famous Writers of the Time 0 Ernest Hemingway, e.e. cummings, T.S. Elliot, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein, Ezra Pound, James Joyce, William Faulkner and Langston Hughes. 0 Some popular works by these writers include A Farewell to Arms, The Great Gatsby, The Old Man and the Sea, Ulysses, The Waste Land and The Sound and the Fury.
