Students are aware of the pollution on Moldova river from the local media. They went on a field trip and took photos of the river water coloured purple from pollution.. “I was coming towards Roman by bus, and when we crossed the bridge over the river, we saw the water was red. Everything was red, wave after wave.” said Mirela T., one of the people who called the newspaper.

Pollution on Moldova river Pollution on Moldova River! Locals noticed an oily film on the water near the village of Cordun. People then saw hundreds of dead fish floating on the water. They notified the authorities, and a commission of specialists from the Public Health Department, the Romanian Water Monitoring Agency and the Romanian Environmental Agency took water samples, forbid fishing, eating fish or watering animals in the area. The locals claim this is not the first time nearby industrial facilities spill noxious substances in the river.
