Meeting with Martin Martinez, commissioner of prisons in Trinidad and Tobago influenced by UK(in what way?)

3 Summary Opposite point of views some countries consider death penalty as a way to reduce crime ( Trinidad, Jamaica ) But several nations consider death penalty as an unjustified answer to crime. ( an eye for an eye: revenge more than a solution to solve the problem of crime). The trend consists in abolishing death penalty in general.

4 The results Explanations of choices of countries about death penalty application. Many factors could interfere in this decision. (examples?) Choice linked to the political regime of the country. abolition may be linked to political change

5 Expectations about capital punishment Reasons why a country should abolish death penalty: -international pressure -impact on the international image of the country. -this could reduce violence and establish stability.
