‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one; you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ Jesus said: ‘This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’

Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one; you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.' Jesus said: 'This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: you shall love your neighbour as yourself.‘ Let us therefore bring our sins before the one true God, in penitence and faith.

Merciful God, our maker and our judge, we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, and in what we have failed to do: we have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbours as ourselves; we repent, and are sorry for all our sins. Father, forgive us. Strengthen us to love and obey you in newness of life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

you are seated at the right hand of the Father: receive our prayer. For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.

Father, we praise you, that through your Word and Holy Spirit you created all things; you reveal your salvation in all the world through Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh; through your Holy Spirit you give us a share in your life and love: fill us with the vision of your glory, that we may always serve and praise you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

1 O Lord our Governor: how glorious is your name in all the earth! 2 Your majesty above the heavens is yet recounted: by the mouths of babes and sucklings. 3 You have founded a strong defence against your adversaries: to quell the enemy and the avenger.

4 When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers: the moon and the stars which you have set in order, 5 What are we, that you should be mindful of us: what are we, that you should care for us? 6 Yet you have made us little less than gods: and have crowned us with glory and honour.

7 You have given us dominion over your handiwork: and have put all things in subjection beneath our feet, 8 All sheep and oxen: and all the creatures of the field, 9 The birds of the air and the fish of the sea: and everything that moves in the pathways of the great waters. 10 O Lord our Governor: how glorious is your name in all the earth!

Holy, holy, holy, Lord God almighty! early in the morning our song of praise shall be; Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty, God in three persons, blessed Trinity!

Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore You, casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea; cherubim and seraphim falling down before You, who were, and are, and evermore shall be.

Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide You, though the eye of sinful man your glory may not see; you alone are holy, there is none beside You, perfect in power, in love, and purity.

Holy, holy, holy, Lord God almighty! all Your works shall praise Your name, in earth, and sky, and sea: Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty, God in three persons, blessed Trinity! Reginald Heber(1783 -1826) Music ©1960 Josef Weinberger Ltd CCLI:61732

A Reading from John Chapter 16, Verses 12-15 Glory to you Lord Jesus Christ For the Gospel of the Lord, Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.

SERMON

Let us together affirm the faith of the Church: I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead.

On the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Accept our prayers through Jesus Christ our Lord, who taught us to pray, Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against any one; so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. Mark 11.25

Great is your faithfulness, O God my Father, you have fulfilled every promise to me you never fail and your love is unchanging all you have been you forever will be. Great is your faithfulness, great is your faithfulness, new every morning your mercies I see; all I have needed Your hand has provided, great is your faithfulness, Lord unto me.

Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest, sun, moon and stars in their courses above, join with all nature in eloquent witness to your great faithfulness, mercy and love. Great is your faithfulness, great is your faithfulness, new every morning your mercies I see; all I have needed Your hand has provided, great is your faithfulness, Lord unto me.

Pardon for sin, and a peace everlasting your living presence to cheer and to guide; strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, these are the blessings your love will provide. 39 Blessed are you, Lord, God of all creation. Through your goodness we have these gifts to share. Accept and use our offerings for your Glory And for the service of your kingdom. Blessed be God for ever.

We give you thanks and praise for your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ, who by the power of your Spirit was born of Mary and lived as one of us. By his death on the cross and rising to new life, he offered the one true sacrifice for sin and obtained an eternal deliverance for his people. Through him, you have revealed to us your glory in the community of your love, three persons, one God, ever to be worshipped and adored.

Therefore with angels and archangels, and with all the company of heaven, we proclaim your great and glorious name, for ever praising you and saying: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Holy God, we thank you for these gifts of your creation, this bread and wine, and we pray that we who eat and drink

them in obedience to our Saviour Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit, may be partakers of his body and blood, and be made one with him and with each other in peace and love. On the night he was betrayed Jesus took bread; and when he had given you thanks he broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, 'Take, eat. This is my body given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.’

After supper, he took the cup, and again giving you thanks he gave it to his disciples, saying, 'Drink from this, all of you. This is my blood of the new covenant shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.‘ Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again.

Therefore we do as our Saviour has commanded: proclaiming his offering of himself made once for all upon the cross, his mighty resurrection and glorious ascension, and looking for his coming again, we celebrate, with this bread and this cup, his one perfect and sufficient sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. As we eat and drink this holy sacrament, renew us by your Spirit that we may be united in the body of your Son and serve you as a royal priesthood in the joy of your eternal kingdom.

Receive our praises, Father, through Jesus Christ our Lord, with whom and in whom, by the power of the Holy Spirit, we worship you in songs of never-ending praise: Blessing and honour and glory and power are yours for ever and ever. Amen.

We break this bread to share in the body of Christ. We who are many are one body, for we all share in the one bread.

The gifts of God for the people of God. Come let us take this holy sacrament of the body and blood of Christ in remembrance that he died for us, and feed on him in our hearts by faith with thanksgiving.

Spirit of God Spirit of God, unseen as the wind, gentle as is the dove: teach us the truth and help us believe, show us the Saviour’s love!

You spoke to us– long, long ago- gave us the written word; we read it still, needing its truth, through it God’s voice is heard.

Spirit of God, unseen as the wind, gentle as is the dove: teach us the truth and help us believe, show us the Saviour’s love!

Without your help, we fail our Lord, we cannot live His way; we need Your power, we need Your strength, following Christ each day.

Spirit of God, unseen as the wind, gentle as is the dove: teach us the truth and help us believe, show us the Saviour’s love! Words :Margaret Old.

Almighty and eternal God, may we who have received this sacrament of your Son's body and blood worship you in all we do, proclaim your word to all the world, and live in the power of your Spirit.

Most loving God, you send us into the world you love. Give us grace to go thankfully and with courage in the power of your Spirit.

God the Holy Trinity make you strong in faith and love, defend you on every side, and guide you in all truth and peace; and the blessing of God almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, be among you and remain with you always. Amen.

Down the mountain the river flows, and it brings refreshing wher-ev-er it goes. Through the valleys and over the fields, the river is rushing and the river is here.

Refrain The river of God- sets our feet a-dancing, the river of God- fills our hearts with cheer, the river of God- fills our mouths with laughter, and we rejoice, for the river is here!

The river of God is teeming with life, and all who touch it can be revived, and those who linger on this river’s shore will come back thirsting for more of the Lord.

Refrain The river of God- sets our feet a-dancing, the river of God- fills our hearts with cheer, the river of God- fills our mouths with laughter, and we rejoice, for the river is here!

Up to the mountain we love to go, to find the presence of the Lord, Along the banks of the river we run we dance with laughter, giving praise to the Son.

Refrain The river of God- sets our feet a-dancing, the river of God- fills our hearts with cheer, the river of God- fills our mouths with laughter, and we rejoice, for the river is here!
