Fleet Profile The vehicle fleet operated by ministries is comprised of: - 2,899 light vehicles (cars, vans, pickups, SUVs) - 591 ambulances - 231+ trucks over 1 ton - 19 pieces of self-propelled heavy equipment - 597+ small vehicles (snowmobiles, motorcycles, all terrain vehicles, forklifts ) - 11 pieces of farm equipment - 8 buses

4. Hybrid Acquisition Policy A total of 480 gas/electric hybrid vehicles were operated by ministries as of February 14, 2008. An additional 100 are on order for the 2008 model year. Thirteen of the seventeen executive lease vehicles assigned to Ministers and Deputy Ministers are hybrids, with two more on order. Hybrids represent 16% of the light vehicle fleet (cars, vans, pickups, SUVs). By the 2011 model year 20% of the light vehicle fleet will be hybrids.
