SOLAR ENERGY
3
SOLAR SYSTEM The Solar System is the gravitationally bound system comprising the Sun and the objects that orbit it, either directly or indirectly. Of those objects that orbit the Sun directly, the largest eight are the planets, with the remainder being significantly smaller objects, such as dwarf planets and small Solar System bodies. The small objects which are in the solar system are asteroids, comets, meteoroids and interplanetary dust.
4
THE ROLE OF THE SUN The sun provides on the Earth the most energy of all astronomical objects. This is caused, because of the small distance between them.
5
SUNLIGHT For an average person on the Earth the sunlight is very important – it enables a transformation of ergosterol included in plant tissues, yeast and skin in vitamin D.
6
THE BENEFITS OF SOLAR ENERGY
7
THE DISADVENTAGES OF SOLAR ENERGY
8
DIVISION OF SOLAR ENERGY Solar energy is divided into: direct production of electric energy direct production of thermal energy indirect production of electric energy from thermal energy
9
Direct production of electric energy: PHOTOVOLTAIC CELL
10
Direct production of thermal energy A SOLAR THERMAL COLLECTOR
11
Indirect production of electric energy from thermal energy SOLAR UPDRAFT TOWER

SOLAR ENERGY IN POLAND The most irradiated regions in Poland is south part of the Lublin province. In turn, the smallest in a year supply of energy is observed in the region of Silesia and in the area located at the crossroads Czech Republic, German and Polish.
