Maintain a 3.5 GPA or Above In today's marketplace, to get a job at a top-tier company like Deloitte, you will need a 3.5 GPA or above. Study hard!. 2. ‘Be a sponge’ in the classroom: Make the most of your education. If there’s a class/subject you enjoy, learn everything you can about it, both in and out of the classroom. Start working now on your technical, business, and communication skills 3. View your professors as a resource: Professors are here to help you out, whether it’s for class material, a job contact, or something else…take advantage the resource you have available to you.

Don’t sweat the small stuff: Study hard, but do not stress about knowing every single detail of material (or every single line of code). Undergrad is meant to give you the foundational skills you need in the working world, but ‘learning on the job’ will also be a large part of any IT job. 5. It’s Never too Early to Start Building Your Resume: Keep your resume (and skills set) up to date in case the need for it arises. Your dream internship could be posted at the last minute. If your resume is not current, you may not have it ready in time to apply. 6. It’s ok to have a little fun: Work can be serious, but you also have to have a light perspective. Having fun is part of the job. If you aren’t enjoying what you’re doing, it’s time to rethink where you want to be and what you want to be doing.

Be a team player: Take advantage of working in groups and participating in extracurricular activities which promote interaction with others. Our job involves dealing with many people on a day to day basis 8. Build technical experience Learn everything about something and something about everything! Some background of technical understanding is a must. Our daily tasks require it. 9. Don't Miss One Opportunity: Take advantage of other on-campus resources, such as Resume Workshops, Career Services, and Mock Interviews. When preparing for a career, participating in these will prove to be useful 10. Internships, Internships: You probably will need two summers-worth. This is your opportunity to acquire skills you may not learn in the classroom..
