3 History Born February 15, 1820 Amherst, Massachusetts Most girls didn’t get to go to school, but Susan’s father allowed her to attend a private Quaker school. Her family was active in reform movements.

4 Women’s Rights Susan dedicated her whole life to improving women’s rights. Women’s right to vote. Her work led to the passing of the 19 th Amendment Worked with Elizabeth Cady Stanton and founded National Women’s Suffrage Association

5 19 th Amendment Their work led to the passing of the 19 th amendment. What is the 19 th Amendment? The 19 th Amendment gave women the right to vote.

6 Other accomplishments: Gave speeches inspiring women around the world. Her organization tactics are still used today. Published a weekly paper. Was arrested for voting prior to the passing of the 19 th amendment. Worked on prohibition of alcohol.

7 Susan B. Anthony Susan was an inspiration to women and her work led to women’s rights. Many books and movies have been made on Susan. She died in 1906. Her last public words were, “failure is impossible”
