Project: Illustrated Poem Due: Research poems by your favorite poet Select a poem you’d like to illustrate and Practice reciting the poem with expression Theme - state the theme of the poem. Write several sentences supporting your statement. Author Information - Write 1 paragraph about the author (background, famous work accomplishments Poem Selection– write 1 paragraph telling why you chose this poem (What was appealing about this poem?) Type your poem and include it in your mini-poster – your poem should be the focus of your project __________________________________________________________________________ Illustrate your poem by using computer graphics, hand drawings, or other visual tools – your poem should be elaborately illustrated

Give thought to the best way to illustrate your poem (What does the poem make you think of? How does it make you feel? What’s the setting/message?) Theme: state the overall message of the poem; what is the theme? Be sure to clearly state the theme in complete sentences Author Information: research the author and write one paragraph giving background information on the poet Poem Selection: what about this poem did you like? Why did you choose it? Answer this question in a well-developed paragraph-you can refer to verses in the poem that might have appealed to you
