Survey and Summit Results Purpose: Update the committee on the results of the survey and summits regarding the outcome areas and strategies

Review 4 Theme Areas Purpose: Review the four outcome areas that were condensed at the last meeting –Leadership –Professional and Personal Development –Knowledge Sharing –Member Engagement and Support

Small Group Exercise 1 Purpose: Committee members will break into small groups by outcome area and finalize the strategies

Small Group Exercise 1 Directions 1. Assign a facilitator and recorder 2. Review the existing strategies in your topic of interest 3. Review the survey and summit results in your topic 4. Does the feedback change any of the existing strategies? If so, where and how? 5. Document the modified, dropped, or new strategy strategy on the flip chart 6. Identify a group member to report out

Small Group Exercise 2 Purpose: Committee members will prioritize the top strategies in all four outcome areas and prioritize the most important strategies overall.

Small Group Exercise 2 Directions 1. Step 1: Each committee member takes 12 red dots (three per outcome area); place the dots on your three top strategies within each of the four outcome areas 2. Step 2: Each committee member takes 3 blue dots to place on the three most important strategies overall. 3. Results will be tallied by Derek and staff and reviewed by the committee on Friday morning

Leadership Strategies Retain, increase, and expand the current membership level and attract local government management professionals who are not members of ICMA [R: 26, B: 9] Develop targeted programs to raise awareness of the value that professional management brings to local governance and advocate the council- manager form of government. [R: 24, B: 12] [tactical note—k-12 and next gen] Become a leader in sustainability through a recognized body of knowledge and expertise to include the four dimensions as defined by ICMA. Knowledge Sharing Strategies Create a model of collaboration with other local government professional associations, affiliate organizations, members and non- members that facilitates access to ICMA expertise and leadership development around professional management, ethical practices, and sustainability. [R: 32, B: 9] Engage academics and subject matter (including the private sector and other research partners), in efforts to enhance the body of knowledge around preferred and best practices in local government management worldwide.
