Midas XL8 Patching SW v1.06 XL8 capacity The XL8 mixing console is 96-51, right? There are an additional 16 aux returns (no processing), making 112-51. There are an additional 51 buss direct inputs (all of which can be mic inputs) with 6-band PEQ and five styles of compression. Aux busses can be configured as additional inputs, all of which can be routed to masters and matrix. 144-19 is achievable and practical. ALL ON A PER-SCENE BASIS.

Midas XL8 Patching SW v1.06 XL8 AES 50 capacity The XL8 network has 8 (dual redundant) AES 50 audio ports at the Control Centre, and 10 (dual redundant) ports on the stage router. 18 (dual redundant) ports in total. Each port is the digital equivalent of a 48 pair analogue audio multi-core, configured as 24 sends and 24 returns. (18 x 48 = 864 audio channels - 432 in, 432 out).

User-configurable 3x8 format as analogue in, analogue out, digital in/out - AES/EBU & midi out (GPIO, 3 rd Party serial data tunnelling & more options to follow). Analogue mic/line inputs with +48V and hardware remote control of gain from XL8 control surface.

Midas XL8 Patching SW v1.06 XL8 AES 50 capacity If all analogue XLRs are used, the maximum number of connections is any in/out combination of 432 XLRs (this can be doubled if AES/EBU I/O is used). The XL8 “Trunk route” HyperMac link carries 192 channels bi-directionally. V1.06 software supports point-to-point routing, WITHOUT requiring processing through the mixer - any connector to any correctly directioned connector Analogue or AES/EBU, A-D and D-A.
