Mission: The WVU AAUW Society mission is to better help the advancement of equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research not only on our campus, but throughout the entire state, nation, and world.

Goals for 2014-2015: Partnering with RHA for an “empowering girls sleepover” at Towers. Sexual Harassment Month (April)- We can partner with either WellWVU or the University Police to offer self defense classes for women. Women's History Month (March)- Field trip to Arthurdale, WV to visit "Eleanor's Little Village" and learn how Eleanor Roosevelt made an impact on West Virginia in her role as First Lady. Zumba fundraiser Community Service: Visiting the Bartlett House, “Cardboard Box City” during Homeless Awareness Week (Nov. 15-23) Resumé workshop and mock interviews Hosting a guest speaker, most likely from the university or the community

2015 AAUW Convention: June 18-21, 2015 San Diego, CA We need to start fundraising now to help cover the cost of registration + air fare

Available Officer Positions: Professional Development Chair -Assistance with networking advice and development tactics for future careers and internships Event Planning Chair -Promote and design materials for club awareness throughout WVU along with event promotions including booking rooms and marketing initiatives Membership Chair -Handles all recruitment efforts including lecture speaking/ presentations, tabling and New Student Orientation Advocacy Chair -Takes lead on keeping up with public policy issues that AAUW supports, such as sexual harassment or assault, Title IX, and pay equality
