Writing Implications How to write implications in your case study.
2
What is an implication? Given some information, what should you DO? What does what you know or observe tell you what is important in teaching? Come up with a teaching idea, based on best-practice information In Case Study assignment, you will need to come up with implications based on your analysis of the student.
3
What is an best practice information? It is NOT your guess at what you should do. It IS ideas based on what experts in the field suggest should be done in similar situations: Experienced educator writing Information from texts Information from reputable websites Information from classes You need to know where the ideas you try come from and where to find good information
5
1. Practice makes Perfect Difficult tasks are strengthened by regular, consistent practice (strengthens synaptical connections.)
6
2. Passion and comfort make for good learning Children learn best when learning is motivating (results in stronger neural connections). Stress delays or blocks electrical activity conduction in higher cognitive centers (amygdala becomes overactive when stressed)
7
3. Similarity and Difference are Normal for Brains (of a certain developmental age Expect some variation inskills based on brain development differences for kids at same age But also expect some to exceed or lag based on genetic or experience factors
8
4. Learn a lot, and start early Cognitive enrichment, especially when young, supports strong learning throughout life.
9
Come up with an implication, given the idea I assign to your group 1.Practice makes perfect 2.Passion makes for good learning 3.Similarity and difference are normal (for brains at a given developmental age)
