2 DECA is a co-curricular organization for students enrolled in the Marketing Education program. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management

3 By giving students hands-on experiences in the fields of marketing, business and entrepreneurship, DECA enhances the classroom experience by providing conferences and competitions that mold high school students into character-driven leaders.

6 BENEFITS OF JOINING DECA Makes you marketable – college, resumes, etc. Networking – meet people all over the country Community Service – tons of opportunity to help others Travel – Virginia Beach and Nashville Scholarships – over $250,000 awarded annually to DECA members Awards - $125,000 is given away annually to ICDC winners Social Activities – make new friends in your school & from other chapters Leadership Training – get over your fear of public speaking and learn to be a leader!

7 DECA DISTRICT LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE WHAT: First level of competition-Individual events only WHY: To earn recognition and awards with an opportunity to compete at the State level of competition WHEN: December 2015 WHERE: TBD

8 DECA STATE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE WHAT: Second level of competition that includes winners from District Leadership Conference as well as written events, marketing representative events and team events. WHY: To earn recognition and awards with an opportunity to compete at the top level of competition-the International Career Development Conference WHEN: March 3-5, 2016 WHERE: Virginia Beach, VA

9 INTERNATIONAL CAREER DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE WHAT: Top level of the competitive events series that includes the winners from the State Leadership conference as well as leadership/Thrive academy participants. WHY:With over 13,000 participants ICDC is culmination of a lot of hard work with the opportunity to win trophies, medals and money.
