2. Navajo After the Cherokee, the Navajo are the 2nd largest tribe. They lived in Arizona and in the Southwest US. They made dolls, blankets and Indian Fry Bread. There is a rock called Spider Rock where Spider Woman lives. The naughty children were sent to her, she ate them and the rock is white on top because of their bones.

4. Choctaw Their roofs were made out of sticks. They lived in Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana. They played stick ball. They worked hard to win and if they lost they gave up horses, food and other possessions.

6. Shoshone The Western Shoshone People ate roots, nuts, fish and small animals. The Northern Shoshone People fished and collected wild roots, and they also hunted. The Pine Nut Harvest was important. Men, women and children gathered together to harvest Pine Nuts.

8. Cherokee The Cherokee lived in the Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. They weave baskets. They made cornmeal cookies. They played games like Disc and Pole. They traveled the Trail of Tears to Oklahoma.

10. Sioux Many years ago The Sioux lived in Canada, Wyoming, and East to Minnesota at the Mississippi River. They hunted and killed buffalo. They lived in tipi’s made of buffalo skin.

12. Seminole Seminole houses are called chickees. They are made of straw and logs. Seminole women sit in the shade traditionally. Seminole women weave baskets out of palmetto. There is a Seminole chief. They made Seminole dolls made of cotton.
