3. Mecca is the most important city in Islam. It is where Islam was born and where Muhammad ruled. The Kaa’ba is there, a large black box which contains the most important artefact of Islam, a piece of rock from Heaven found by Abraham. Millions visit each year, and only Muslims are allowed to enter the city.

4.  Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world  Islam is the main religion in the Middle East  It was founded by Muhammad in 610 CE  Islam believes “There is one God, Allah, and the prophet Muhammad was his messenger” Islam means “submission to God”

6. ALL MUSLIMS SHOULD  Declare their faith - There is one God, Allah and Muhammad is his messenger  Fast during the holy month of Ramadan  Pray five times a day, facing the direction of Mecca  Give 10 % of what they earn to charity  Visit the holy city of Mecca at least once in their lifetime
