Allows us to compare our students’ performance with a variety of norm groups National Norm – Mixed demographics, 50-60 thousand scores from past 3 years Independent school Norm - 1200-1300 schools with screened admissions, select student body (No Catholic schools included ) FRAS- approximately 20 French-American Schools in the United States Helps track individual growth in skill areas over years Provides instrument for instructional planning Helps us diagnose strengths and weaknesses in specific skill areas for entire classes or individual students Helps us evaluate the efficacy of our own English instruction Closely matches our English curriculum Is used by the majority of highly ranked independent schools
