DO NOW – Monday, January 6 Take out your homework (the “Quiz Review Exercise” you got on Thursday). If you weren’t here on Thursday, raise your hand. Review questions 4 and 5. Share your answer with your partner. Prepare to be called on – I’ll be cold-calling! If you found these questions confusing or difficult, make note of what you found challenging.

Fishbowl Debate: Overview Four separate debates. 10 minutes each. No prep time in class tomorrow. Must prepare today and tonight for homework!! Graded assignment. Evaluated on Participation – you must be involved!! During the debate / As a peer reviewer Preparation – you must hand in your notes Professionalism – respect, body language, etc. Content Mastery – how well you know your stuff

Fishbowl Debate: Format Your team against one other team Each student has a role Opening arguments (two students) Rebut opponent’s arguments (one student) Closing statements (one student)

Fishbowl Debate: Peer Review Every student will be matched up with another student, whom you will observe You will assess other student on performance Your assessment will be part of your grade, and will also be given to your classmate as feedback
