2. Egyptians appreciated mining and quarrying because without it, they wouldn’t have any great pyramids or grand temples. Egyptians got their material to make pyramids and temples from their underground mining.

3. When Egyptian mining was done, the miners would always look for metals such as copper and gold. Silver was not exploited until about the Late Period. They also searched for precious stones like emeralds, malachite, carnelian, amethyst and other gemstones. There was also mining for minerals which included salt, Natron, alum and Galena.

4. In Egypt there was much Quarrying for various materials such as granite alabaster, diorite, marble, serpentine, porphyry, slate, basalt and dolomite from Aswan and Wadi Rahanu.
