7 This is an example of why you might need to blind copy someone into an . We try not to work like this. We prefer to be open and let everyone see the whole discussion.

8 Be open and honest in your emails.
Copy in people who need to know. You can add as many names to the Cc: line as you need to. If you use the Bcc: line it means the person may feel they cannot reply.

9 When to reply A few tips:
You should reply when your name is in the ‘To’ line If it is an ‘everyone’ only reply to the sender if you have something important to say or need to confirm something

10 When not to reply Please do not reply with ‘thanks’ or ‘will do’ to everyone in the list for ‘everyone’ s. If you are CC’d in just for information you probably do not need to reply You can either delete these s or save them for a while if you think you will need to come back to the information

11 Who should I send emails to?
Use group addresses when you want to share information but do not need a reply from everyone You should insert the name of everyone you want to reply to an in the ‘To’ line Anyone else who needs to know but you do not need a reply from should go in the CC line Please do not put everyone in the ‘To’ line if you do not need to!
