5 Appeals by Association: Testimony
Usually someone famous recommending a product or a valued customer.

6 Appeals by Association: Plain Folks Appeal

7 Emotional Appeal: Humor
Ads that make you laugh so they can catch your attention.

8 Emotional Appeal: Fear
Using fear to solve something or influence you into buying a product.

9 Emotional Appeal: Fear

10 Emotional Appeal: Vanity
Appealing to people’s desire to want material items (cars, money, etc.)

11 Appeal to Values/Morals

12 Loaded Language—word choice
Using strong words to make you feel like the product is amazing

13 Assignment Complete the Brainstorming Sheet
Then, create your own advertisement using Microsoft publisher/Word or on a piece of paper. You must have “The Rule of Three” as well as one persuasive appeal.
