1.Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. The Rapture in Scripture

1.Corinthians 15:51 Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. (See: Phil 3:20-21; Jam 5:7-8) Supporting Scripture

1.Thessalonians 5:1 Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need to have anything written to you. 2 For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 While people are saying, There is peace and security, then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. The Time of the Rapture
11
There seem to be some differences between His second coming and the rapture. The rapture is described as imminent whereas the second coming is preceded by a chain of events. This preserves a the needed distinction between Israel and the Church. Pre-Tribulationism
12
The church will see the beginning of the Tribulation. (Mt. 24; 2.Thes 2:1-2) Believers are exempt from God’s wrath. (1.Thes. 5:9; Rev 3:10) The “Great” Tribulation does not begin until the mid-point when God fully unleashes His wrath. (Mt.24:21; Rev 6:17) Mid-Tribulationism
13
The events in Christ’s return are the same as those in the rapture. (Mt 24:30-31) Ex: Clouds, Trumpet, Sudden gathering… Some passages in Revelation imply the rapturing of saints. (Rev 14:14-16, 16:15) The “Day of the Lord” is used for both. (2.Thes. 2:1-2) Post-Tribulationism
14
If we will not live through the Tribulation why all the details? Is not our fixation on the timing a little self-centered and self-serving? Are we even supposed to know when the rapture will take place? (See: Mt. 24:36; 1.Thes 5:1-6) Questions?

James 5:7 Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. 8 You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. Patience is a virtue.

1.Thessalonians 5:23 Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (See: 2.Cor. 11:2) Our real goal
