4 4 MINISTRSTVO ZA KMETIJSTVO, GOZDARSTVO IN PREHRANO 22.6.2016 NATIONAL LEGISLATION AGRICULTURE ACT (OJ RS, No 45/2008) defines quality schemes and the overall procedure of registration. RULES on procedures of the registration of agricultural products and foodstuffs (OJ RS, No 15/2008) define detailed procedure of registration (content of the application, etc.).

6 6 MINISTRSTVO ZA KMETIJSTVO, GOZDARSTVO IN PREHRANO 22.6.2016 RECOGNITION– GENERAL PROCEDURES APPLICATION Public hearing in Slovenia Audit and evaluation of the specification by the Expert committee Recognition of the designation: - The product is registered at national level. - An application is sent to the Commission for registration at EU level.

CERTIFICATION BODIES in Slovenia (2) Accredited in accordance with the EU standard EN 45011 are:  BUREAU VERITAS  INŠTITUT ZA KONTROLO IN CERTIFIKACIJO V KMETIJSTVU IN GOZDARSTVU Prepare the External control plan THE CERTIFICATION BODY ISSUES THE CERTIFICATE. Regular control 1 to 2×year The certification bodies send a detailed list of certified producers to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food. Certification – general procedures

11 11 MINISTRSTVO ZA KMETIJSTVO, GOZDARSTVO IN PREHRANO 22.6.2016 NATIONAL LEGISLATION AGRICULTURE ACT (OJ RS, No 45/2008) defines quality schemes and the overall procedure of registration. Rules on spirit drinks (OJ RS, No 75/2008) define detailed rules for the implementation of Regulation 110/2008, define GI for certain national spirit drinks, and define the procedure of registration and verification.

13 13 MINISTRSTVO ZA KMETIJSTVO, GOZDARSTVO IN PREHRANO 22.6.2016 ASSESSMENT OF CONFORMITY The assessment of conformity of spirit drinks is made by designated laboratories for assessment of conformity. The assessment comprises: sampling; chemical analysis; organoleptic analysis; assessment of conformity with technical documentation; issuance of certificate of conformity.

20 20 MINISTRSTVO ZA KMETIJSTVO, GOZDARSTVO IN PREHRANO 22.6.2016 PROCEDURE FOR REGISTRATION Defined by EU Council regulation on the common organisation of the market in wine: – Application for protection (incl.description of wine, demarcation of the area concerned,…) – Applicant: any interested group of producers GI approwed by MAFF.

21 21 MINISTRSTVO ZA KMETIJSTVO, GOZDARSTVO IN PREHRANO 22.6.2016 LABELLING GI can be labelled on wine only after evaluation of wine, made by designate laboratory. Evaluation includes: – sampling; – chemical analyzing; – organoleptical analyzing; – verifying the origin of wine (vineyard register); – issue a decree of the evaluation of wine. The No. of a decree of the evaluation is obligatory on each bottle.
