 Around day 14 of a woman’s menstrual cycle is when ovulation happens; which means an egg is released.  Having sex around that time frame of ovulation will increase your likely hood of getting pregnant.  It only takes 1 sperm to make a baby and on average 300 million are released during sex.  Sperm can live inside a woman for up to 5 days and outside for only minutes or a few hours depending on the condition.

 Approximately 900,000 teenage girls become pregnant in the U.S. every year  2 of every 10 teenage girls will have a child during the teenage years.  Thirty percent of pregnant teens will undergo an abortion  The U.S. teen pregnancy and birth, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), and abortion rates are substantially higher than those of other western industrialized nations.  The teenage father abandons the pregnant girl 90 percent of the time and pays, on average, less than $800 annually in child support.

 Some basic supplies to consider buying include:  Car seat  Crib  Diapers and wipes  Changing table  A few baby clothes to get you started  Baby monitor $450 for a thrifty shopper…

 You can save money on diapers and wipes by buying in bulk. A 190-pack of diapers usually costs about $42  A baby goes through 10-15 diapers per day…  In a month… 310 diapers will be used AT MINIMUM…  $80 per month on diapers alone…  Wipes… expect to cost $20.00 per month…

 You still need…  Formula if not breastfeeding ($250 per month)  Clothing…  Doctor visits…  Butt cream  Medicine  Blankets  Bottles  CHILD CARE!!!! ($2,000 per month on average)

 Teen pregnancy accounts for more than $9 billion per year in costs to U.S. taxpayers for increased health care and foster care, increased incarceration rates among children of teen parents, and lost tax revenue because of lower educational attainment and income among teen mothers.  Pregnancy and birth are significant contributors to high school drop out rates among girls.  Only about 50% of teen mothers receive a high school diploma by age 22, versus nearly 90% of women who had not given birth during adolescence.  The children of teenage mothers are more likely to have lower school achievement and drop out of high school, have more health problems, be incarcerated at some time during adolescence, give birth as a teenager, and face unemployment as a young adult.
