The Conservative Revival The most visible result of the turmoil of the 1960s was a new wave of political conservatism in state and national affairs Overwhelmed by rapid increases in the cost of living, voters became increasingly restive under the burden of taxation and resentful of the growth of government Ronald Reagan from Hollywood actor to CA governor
